Last Minute Preparations

I am an habitual optimist and procrastinator, but the preparations for this trip have been left even later than I would normally permit! I have yet to rip the dashboard off and uninstall the Receiver/DVD/CD/Nav unit that I put in, but have to take out again because it has an internal problem. Then I must put back the old Receiver/CD unit so we at least have our Sirius Radio working for the trip.

The inattention to the trip preparations has been mostly due to frantic last minute 'landscaping activities' on the Bottom-40, so as to leave the place looking reasonable rather than like a war zone! But also due to other things like Company year-ends that HAVE to be completed by tomorrow (Saturday).

It is now just past Friday noon, and we intend to leave for 'The Kids' places in Surrey on Sunday (2 Sept 07), attending a multiple birthday BBQ for 3 of the grandchildren, then heading off East along the Canada-1 toward the southern end of the Okanagan.

I will post our 'planned intinerary' in a later addition, but generally we intend to head East to about Castlegar, then South into the USA through the top end of Idaho into Montana, where we want to spend some time at Yellowstone. After that, up North to Alberta to see the Badlands, Drumheller, Banff and maybe Jasper, then over the Rogers Pass to Glacier National and back home via the top end of the Okanagan.

Teaching your grandmother to suck eggs . . .

Excuse the turn of phrase but it seems appropriate given that all this new bloggin' and technology must now be conveyed to Mr. and Mrs. Noel Currie in order that they might disseminate their interesting anecdotes from their travels to you in this manner.

Here is a picture from a previous roadtrip!

There we go. Here's hoping this will result in posts' aplenty.
